What is in a Name

For years, I remember my dad sitting on the back patio, mesmerized by the vibrant hum of hummingbirds. He'd meticulously prepare their sugary treat, eagerly awaiting the first flutter of wings at the feeder. He could spend hours lost in the simple joy of their presence.

Dad was also an ardent pie enthusiast. Custard and cherry pies were his unwavering favorites, a holiday tradition he cherished.

His passing in April 2023 left a void in my life, and my previous business began to languish. I lost my passion. But then, I realized that neither my dad nor my mom, nor my wife, would ever want me to give up on my dreams. They've always been my biggest cheerleaders.

So, I honored his memory by naming this new venture "Hummingbird Pie Haven." Here, we'll feature delectable deep-dish pies and a variety of other treats. Our dream is to open a brick-and-mortar bakery within a year.

    My journey began at the esteemed Escoffier Culinary School in Boulder, Colorado, where I honed my skills in the art of pastry. I then further refined my craft in the vibrant bakery scene of Texas, gaining invaluable experience in creating delicious and beautiful treats. 

    At Hummingbird Pie Haven, we believe that every pie should be a masterpiece. We use the finest seasonal ingredients, many sourced locally, to craft unique and unforgettable flavors. From Texas’ Chocolate Pecan Pie to my daddy's favorite, cherry pie. We offer a delightful array of options to satisfy every craving. 

    More than just a bakery, Hummingbird Pie Haven is an extension of my heart. As a wife, mother of three, and grandmother to nine, I understand the importance of family and creating cherished moments. I pour that love and passion into every pie we bake.

    Hello! I'm Brianne, Chad's fiancée. I'm a mom of four, and I'm incredibly proud to pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship (with a focus in Social Entrepreneurship) and a Minor in Hospitality and Tourism Management at Northeastern State University. Balancing motherhood and college has been a challenging but rewarding journey, and I'm excited to graduate in 2026
